Karvalakkikisa (43)/Warm cap race

Karvalakkikisassa on tasoituslähtö, joten lähdettiin viimeisenä. Tuuli oli miltei olematon. Trimmussa on kolme ponttoonia, joten vesipinta on suuri. Tällaiseen keliin trimaraani on pahin mahdollinen vaihtoehto. Onneksi sattui muutama lottovoitto paikallisissa vireissä. Ja niinpä Lellerin jääpoijulla havaitsimme, että meillä on tuuli ja muilla ei.

Kisan maksimiaika tuli täyteen ja se siitä. Tultiin vielä genaakkerilla maihin. Se vain sen takia, että säilyy realismi. Oikeasti, mikäli kisa olisi jatkunut, väistämättä hyvä onni ei olisi jatkunut ja pienemmän vedenalaisen vastuksen veneet olisi menneet ohi.

At the last race of this year we started last. There were actually no wind. Trimmu with its three pontoons is not the best type of boat in light wind. Happily we got a couple of personal gusts. So when we tacked on Lelleri we noticed that we had wind, others did'nt.

The maximum time of the race came. However we came home with genaakker. Hole time we knew that sooner or later the better light wind boats will pass us.

2.10.2011 Hamina Kotka (42)

Kotiinpaluu aluksi heikossa tuulessa. Päivä oli kaunis. Arktinen muutto oli käynnissä. Hanhiparvia meni useita Nuokon ja Suurenmustan välistä kohti Haapasaarta.

Homecoming in light wind. The day was beautiful. Many lofts of birds were flying to southwest towards island Haapasaari.

1.10.2011 Äijäpurjehdus /Old man sailing (41)

Lähdössä pienempiLyssiset veneet lähtivät noin tuntia aikaisemmin. Edellä lähti Nella, joka kasvatti eroa tasaisen varmasti. Pitkään näytti siltä, että kaikki kerkiävät Haminaan ennen minua. Kirkonmaan jälkeen reitti kääntyi luoviksi suuressa aallokossa. Trimmu kolmine ponttooneineen ja kevyenä veneenä eteni hitaasti aallokossa. Vasta Vehkaluodon jälkeen aallokko pieneni ja luovivauhdit kasvoivat. Loppupätkällä tuli jo mukavia 10 kn pyrähdyksiä puuskissa. Edellä menevät veneet kallistelivat kovasti, mistä tiesi, että puuska on tulossa.

Edellä mennyt GibSea valitsi älykkään ja suoremman reitin sataman vieritse. Pandion näytti luovivan jo tavoittamattoman kaukana vanhat purjeet tyylikkäästi jalustettuina. Onneksi vaan sataman vierellä puuskaili ravakkoja puuskia. Trimmu otti 12 kn laukkoja ja pääsi pujahtamaan takaa-ajettavien edelle.

Illalla käytiin saunassa ja syömässä Hps:n tukikohdassa.

In the start boats with smaller Lys number started about an hour earlier. Before me started Nella, which was clearly faster than Trimmu. It looked a long time like everyone reaches the port of Hamina before Trimmu. After the island of Kirkonmaa the route turned to be tacking through big vawes.Trimmu with its three hulls was not very fast at that part. Only after Vehkaluoto the pace riced because waves were not so big anymore. There were speeds like 10 kn in gusts. The boats in front of Trimmu heeled much, so I knew there was coming big gusts.

The Gibsea boat if front of Trimmu choose a clever route beside the harbour. It looked like a Pandion named sailboat was tacking too far away. Luckily there were some big breezes in the rest part of trip. Trimmu took 12 speeds in gusts and could pass a couple of boats.

In the evening we visited the home basis of Hamina sailing club.

Lueskelin Päijännepurjehduksen historiasta kertovasta kirjasta. Illalla kävelin kallioilla ja juttelin puhelimessa siskon kanssa. Siskontyttö oli saanut toistaiseksi jatkuvan työsopimuksen. Yöllä tuuli yltyi lyhyeksi ajaksi tosi voimakkaaksi. Päätin jäädä vielä päiväksi saareen.

Illalla tyyntä, mutta yöllä tuuli yltyi kuin tyhjästä

I red a book about history of one sailing competition, which is made yearly in one of Finlands lakes, Päijänne. In the evening I walked on the rocks an talked with my sister by phone. The daughter of my sister had got so far lasting contract of employment. In the night the wind raised quite much for a short time. I decided to stay one day more in the island.

25.9.2011 Långö (36)

Pärskekallio tyynenä päivänä

Lueskelin Eino Luukkasen elämästä kertovaa kirjaa Hyökkäys auringosta. Realistisesti ja melko kiihkottomasti kerrottua hävittäjälentäjäkuvausta sodan ajoilta.

Kolme hanhiparvea suunnisti Viroon, yksi kurkiaura. Kamerassa ei ollut vielä silloin virtaa, joten kuvaamatta jäi. Illalla joutsenparvi lensi matalalla lounaaseen, mutta ne eivät varmaan olleet vielä muuttopuuhissa.

I read a book from wartimes, about life of Eino Luukkanen, a famous Messerschmitt flyer. It was realistically written story, with no clory to the wartime.

Three gooselofts flew over to Eastland, and one blue crane. There were no power in the camera, so I got no photos. In the evening a loft of swans flew not very highly to southwest,  apparently they were not moving abroad.

24.9.2011 Sapokka Långö (35)

Tuuli oli luoteesta 7-11 m/s. Pienensin vähän rullaa. Vauhdit matkalla 8-13 kn. Långön edustalla näin norpan.

Perillä Långössä laskin ankkurin ja sen jälkeen pulahdin kahluusaappaissa veteen siinä paikassa kuin ennenkin. Vasta kun vesi tunki saappaan yläreunasta sisään huomasin, että rantakivetkin oli veden alla. Vesi oli tosi korkealla. Loppuilta menikin vaatteita kuivatellessa.

The wind was 7-11 m/s from northwest. I reefed the forsail. The speed was 8-13 kn. In front of Island Långö I saw a seal.

After I arrived I launched the anchor and after that I went to water with my high armed boots. However the water became inside the boothes. I noticed that the beach rocks were under the water. The level of water was very high. The rest of the evening I spent drying my clothes.

22.9.2011 Torstaipurjehdus (34)/Thorsdaysailing

Ei löytynyt kelloa, joten lähtö oli summittainen. Oltiin reilusti myöhässä, mutta ei se mitään. Puolet fleetistä varasti. Varissaaren jälkeen tuuli yltyi vesikuuron myötä. Havouri näkyi vain vaivoin vesiharson takaa. Maaliin tultiin ensimmäisenä, mutta tasoitusten jälkeen oltiin neljäs.

We didn't find a clock, so the start was not good. We were much late, but no matter. A half of the fleet was too early. After the Island Varissaari the wind raised and became a strong rain. We could see hardly the Island Havouri because of the rain. We came first to finish line and were fourth in final results.

15.9.2011 Torstaipurjehdus (33)/Thorsdaysailing

Tuulta oli vähän enemmän ja mukavasta suunnasta. Kun voimaa oli enemmän niin venekin nousi ylemmäs tuuleen. Lähdössä tuulta oli alle reivausrajan, mutta Mussalon kulmalla pieni höllentäminen oli paikallaan. Purjehdus oli reipasta ja vaivatonta, mutta paljoa reserviä ei enää ollut.

This time we had a little better wind from nice direction. When there is more wind the boat tacks also upper. Nice and easy going, near the reefing limit.

8.9.2011 Torstaipurjehdus(32) /Thorsdaysailing

Käytiin torstaipurjehduksella. Kevyellä tuulella oli vähän tuskaista meno.

Light day. Hard sailing.

4.9.2011 Tyyni aamu Långössä(31) /Calm morning in island Långö

 Aamulla tein lyhyen kävelylenkin saaressa. Illalla satanut vesi lillui vielä pienissä lammikoissa kallion koloissa. Mättäät olivat märkiä. Meren alati vellova maininki rikkoi silloin tällöin pikku lampareitten rauhan.

Kotimatka kestikin sitten vähän pitempään, kun tuulta oli aluksi vähän vähemmän.

In the morning I made a little walk in the island. The water which had rained last evening still was on the holes of rocks. The wood were not dry. Small waves from the sea broke the peace of little holes of the rock.

The hometrip was very slow, because of lack of wind.

1.9.2011 Torstai Lehmä (29)/1.9.2011 Thorsday Lehmä

Kaunis päivä Lehmänlahdella. Illalla torstaipurjehdus, missä yksin mukana. Halssinvaihdot veivät aikaa, eivätkä säädötkään onnistuneet.

Beautiful day in the bay of Island Lehmä. In the evening the thorsdaysailing. Tacking manouvers to too lot time, and the adjusting did not succeed.

25.8.2011 Torstaipurjehdus (27) /25.8.2011 Thorsdaysailing

Veneessä nukutun yön jälkeen tuntee itsensä rentoutuneeksi, tiedä häntä mistä johtuu.

Veneen ulkopuolella rannassa lillui lähes yhtenäinen sinilevälautta. Johtuu varmaan siitä, että vesi ei vaihdu lahdessa. Tähän lahteen sinilevä ei keräänny ulapalta, joten olisiko niin, että se on kukkinut lahden omista ravinteista, eli astianpesuvesistä.

Purjehdin takaisin Sapokkaan, mistä lähdettiin isän ja yhden gastin kanssa torstaipurjehdukselle. Lähtö onnistui huonosti, joten jäätiin kauas kärjestä. Luovit toimivat vähän paremmin kuin ennen.

After a night slept in the boat You feel really relaxed, don't know why.

Outside the boat where a big fleet of blue-green algae. Depends truly because the water in the bay don't change. The algae don't build up from the sea, so I guess, it has flowered from own nutriets of the bay, dishes washing waters.

I sailed back to Sapokka, where we started with my father and one gues to thorsdaysailing. The start went badly, so we were far from the first boat. The tackin went a little better than before.

24.8.2011 Keskiviikko Lehmään /24.8.2011 Wednesday to Lehmä (26)

Kiireet töissä vähän hellittivät, joten saman tien lomalle lompsis ja jonnekin, ihan sama minne, kunhan sain köydet irti. Sitten päädyin Lehmään, jossa vietin yön.

Hurry in work stopped for a while, so at same time I went to holiday. I had to go somewhere, no matter where, so I sailed to nearest Island, Lehmä. There I spent the night.

18.8.2011 Torstaipurjehdus /Thorsdaysailing (25)

Kokeilin ajaa tällä kertaa tosi ales kovalla vauhdilla. Ei oikein onnistunut. Tällä tavalla täytyy aina väistellä muita veneitä.

I tried to sail lower with more pace. It did'nt succeed. This way you must avoid other boats.

14.8.2011 Emäsalo Kotka (24)

Tapahtui omituinen asia. Veneen akku oli ikäänkuin tyhjä, vaikka virtaa piti riittää. Käytiin ostamassa Porvoosta pari akkua. Myöhemmin todettiin, että plus kaapeli ili mennyt rikki. Laitettiin gpsn akku suoraan akun napoihin ja lähdettiin purjehtimaan kotiin.

Kotimatka kesti 11 ja puoli tuntia.

It happened a peculiar thing. The battery was empty even it would have been enough power in it. We went to Porvoo to buy two batteries. Later we noticed, that the plus cabel was broken. We put the gps straight to battery and sailed home.

The homesailing took 11,5 hours.

12.8.2011 Långö Emäsalo (22)

Purjehdittiin etelätuulessa Emäsaloon. Illalla tuuli alkoi tyyntyä, mutta purjeilla päästiin perille asti.

We sailed in light wind to Emäsalo. In the evening the wind started to calm down, but we reached to Emäsalo in good time.

11.8.2011 Sapokka Långö (21)

Lähdettiin illalla kohti Långötä. Luovittiin kevyessä tuulessa kunnes alkoi tulla pimeä. Loput matkasta ajettiin koneella.

We started sailing towards Långö. We tacked in light wind util it started to become dark. The rest of trip we drived with machine.
